Hale & Hearty Project Update

Hale & Hearty will provide a comprehensive Health & Wellbeing knowledge base, which can be used for rich analysis, insights and action. This will involve the harmonisation and linking of data from many sources, including Local Authorities, the Central Statistics Office and Healthcare Providers.

The Hale & Hearty Knowledge Base will be available as Open Data on the National Open Data Portal data.gov.ie. The Open Data published as part of this project, will not infringe upon a person’s right under data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Hale & Hearty is funded by the European Commission’s Innovation and Networks Executive Agency, under the 2019 Connecting Europe Facility

The Hale & Hearty partners include Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, Department of Health, Central Statistics Office, Fingal County Council, Derilinx and the Irish Data and Cloud Cluster. The project is being funded by the European Commission’s Innovation and Networks Executive Agency.

The first phase of the project has already started which includes the development of user stories for knowledge exchange along, with a survey of potential users.

The survey will distributed to the general public as well as among people working to gather data in the health sector. The survey is being conducted to understand user needs so that a customer-centric mobile solution can be developed.
