Knowledge Base

The Hale & Hearty Knowledge Base will be an extension of the Irish Open Data Portal data.gov.ie, as this is already the recognised repository for accessing Open Data in Ireland.

There are over 9,000 datasets from 100 Public Sector Bodies currently available on data.gov.ie, including data that is published by our consortium partners; the CSO, FCC and the HSE.

All of the harmonised datasets generated through this action will be discoverable and available through the Irish Open Data Portal data.gov.ie and the European Data Portal.

Its Facilitation

The Hale & Hearty Knowledge Base extension will facilitate the re-use of the harmonised data by

Providing custom browsing functionality for the Hale & Hearty datasets and APIs via the data.gov.ie interface.

Enabling users to explore and overlay the Hale & Hearty datasets and APIs on one mapping interface, through a dedicated map-explorer.

Ensuring all of the data is programmatically accessible in an integrated manner, through the standardised Hale & Hearty API.

Providing complete API metadata descriptions, in compliance with the DCAT-AP v2 metadata standard, including the description of data services.

Ensuring all datasets have complete and harmonised data dictionaries.
